What’s Happening in September?

Hands-on Art History: One Tuesday every month.
For children ages 7-9. Pique your child’s interest in art and art history in this fun workshop. We will have a short lesson about a different period featuring artists, fun facts, and of course images of famous works. Then we will experiment in a technique of the period in our own art project.   • September 16: Byzantine Art, making paper mosaics
  • October 21: Impressionism, making pointillism pictures
  • November 18: Abstract Art, making Pollock inspired pictures

Talk Like a Pirate Day! Friday, September 19. All day.
Bring your child to the library dressed like pirate, show us their best pirate voice, and we will reward them with a piece of treasure! 11:00 AM Story time will be pirate themed!

Pajamarama Read-a-thon! Friday, September 26, 7:00-9:00 PM.
For ages 5 and up accompanied by an adult caregiver. Celebrate Library Card Sign-up Month by coming to the library after-hours for a special reading pajama party! BYOB pillows and blankets. Sign up for a library card and win a prize. We will provide books to read, snacks, and games! Register in advance online or at the library, but drop-ins welcome!
